The Fungus lamp is a striking example of how to take inspiration from nature while abstracting it into clean, modern forms that feel both timeless and gracious.

The lamp’s stems emerge from the base like delicate stalks, curving upward with an organic, almost fluid-like quality. Each stem supports a domed cap finished in mirror-polished stainless steel, creating a beautiful contrast with the matte white stems. The reflective surfaces catch each other’s light, adding a dynamic element to the otherwise minimalist composition.

The 3D-printed slats beneath each cap are particularly noticeable, creating a radial pattern that, when illuminated, casts shadows while diffusing light in a way that mimics the delicate gill structure of real fungi. 

The varnished cement base grounds the piece both literally and aesthetically, providing a solid foundation that doesn’t compete with the ethereal quality of the stems and caps. 

When lit the lamp transforms into an almost otherworldly presence. The illuminated slats and the intricate light patton cast onto the base create a warm, inviting glow that emphasizes the piece’s organic inspiration while maintaining its contemporary elegance.
